Aerial Mapping & Surveying Course

Introduction to the various RPAS mapping platforms and cameras/sensors available on the market, the pros and cons of each, together with a basic understanding of their functionality. The course covers Aerial Mapping and Surveying, but also takes into account Land Surveying GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and Photogrammetry.



The course includes an in depth look at the workflow required for successful data capturing, including mission and flight planning.
Learn the basics of photogrammetry to achieve accurate orthomosaics and digital elevation models from aerial data. Students are provided the opportunity to experience a practical mission for the collection of aerial data.

Prerequisites
- Drone pilots who want to operate commercially must hold a valid RPL
- Advanced pilots who don't need basic flight manoeuvre training
- Own camera and drone equipment
- Own laptop for editing purposes
